Welcome: NIRO Annual Meeting 2025 - November 6th

We want to welcome all in HSØ who are interested in radiotherapy research to NIRO´s annual meeting (program below).

We are happy to present two highly recognized keynote speakers:

Prof. Dirk de Ruysscher

(Maastricht University Medical Center, The Netherlands)

Dirk de Ruysscher is Professor of Radiation Oncology/Respiratory Oncology at the Maastricht University Medical Center. He specialises in lung cancer and has pioneered the integration of molecular imaging in radiation treatment planning and individualised radiotherapy schedules. He will share with us some of his translational radiation research on lung cancer and give us his view on the combination of proton therapy with immunotherapy in light of his recent paper on lymph node failure.

Prof. Martin Pruschy

(University of Zurich, Switzerland)

Martin Pruschy is Professor and Head of Preclinical Research and Applied Radiobiology at the University of Zurich. His research focuses on identifying processes on the molecular, cellular and tumor pathophysiological level that regulate the response to radiotherapy and thereby co-determine treatment outcome. He will give us his view on how lymph node irradiation is a challenge in radiotherapy and in combination treatments with immunotherapy, in light of his preclinical work and in a clinical perspective.

We will also have invited speakers presenting on topics related to current and future radiotherapy-related research at HSØ, as well as oral and poster presentations based on submitted abstracts. There will be much time for discussions, and we encourage everyone to submit an abstract!
