Wednesday, May 21 2025, Radiumhospitalet: Session on pre-clinical and clinical radiotherapy

Join us for a session on pre-clinical and clinical radiotherapy:

Guest speakers from the Translational Radiobiology section at University Hospital Erlangen will present their research: Dr. Anna-Jasmina Donaubauer, whose group investigates how radiotherapy influences the immune system, and Dr. Tina Jost, whose group focuses on combining radiotherapy with targeted therapies to enhance cancer treatment efficacy.

Time: May 21st 2025, 15:00-16:00

Place: Auditorium, research building (FOBY), Radiumhospitalet

Program:

15:00

Dr. Anna-Jasmina Donaubauer

Translational research in clinical trials at the Department of Radiation Oncology Erlangen

15:30

Dr. Tina Jost

Preclinical models and preclinical research at the Department of Radiation Oncology Erlangen

Short info

At the Department of Radiation Oncology, University Hospital Erlangen, The Translational Radiobiology section investigates immune-mediated effects of ionizing radiation alone and in combination with therapies such as immune and targeted therapy. Correlations and underlying immunological mechanisms at local and systemic levels play an essential role. The research field includes tumor-associated vaccination, immune checkpoint blockade, inhibition of DNA repair as well as hyperthermia in combination with radiotherapy. The work has a strong translational character, as the interplay of laboratory and clinical findings is used to optimize multimodal therapies.
